Distributed Eevee and cycles rendering in Blender 2.8

We've been working on an upgrade to Crowdrender, a distributed/network rendering addon for blender. The addon has been in the alpha development stage for about two years now. We've supported 2.78 and 2.79 and with the impending arrival of 2.8 we've been hard at work modifying the addon for compatibility with the latest alpha version of Blender.

We want to share the development progress with you and so we've built a playlist of short (1-2 minute) videos demonstrating how the work is progressing. So far we've shown the addon working inside blender 2.8 alpha 1 and 2, we've demonstrated distributed rendering with both eevee and cycles.

We'd love to hear your comments, questions and feedback as we get ready for the Blender 2.8 beta version. You can also donate to the funding campaign we've setup on our website. The beta version will of course support 2.8, but the funding will bring a lot more than this, you can check the details on our website, where you can also download the current version of our addon for 2.78 and 2.79. The addon is free for unlimited use in your projects.

In the mean time, we hope you'll enjoy these videos and we'd love to hear from you if you're interested in what we're doing :D

I'm a software engineer, I've worked on numerous technologies over the past 10 years. I started out working on full motion flight simulators and then worked with embedded systems. I now work on building an add-on to support rendering using multiple computers over internet/local networks. I started using blender in 2009 and have done small projects with it since then, however, crowd render, our network rendering add-on is by far the biggest adventure with Blender to date.

    Hello.
I can't wait to see your next video releases!.
I have several computers and I would love to boost my render speed.
I want to migrate to blender and I have to be sure that I can compete against the quality I offer my clients with the 3DSMAX & corona's combo.
    Best regards.

    • Hi Joe, not sure what you've experienced, but the cloud service is not required to use the addon, nor do you have to pay for the cloud account. There is an option to pay for access to Blender Grid's render farm, but that is not required to use your own computers.

Apologies if it appeared as though we're making you pay for just having a cloud account, that is not the case, can you get in touch with us and explain what happened? If there is confusing material or layout on our site, we'd love to fix that.

So please get in touch with us at "info at crowdrender dot com dot au"
