The Art of Moritz Schlitter

2

Enjoy the work of Moritz Schlitter, 3D Artist from Auckland, New Zealand!

Hi, my name is Moritz. I am a 27 year old 3D artist born and raised in Cologne Germany.

For the past ten years I have lived in Auckland, New Zealand, where I studied 3D art at Media Design School. After school I worked at a couple of smaller studios, to get a foot in the door as they say. Eventually landing a job at Outsmart games where I worked on Smallworlds and Bloodgate. From there i was recruited as the lead 3D artist on Goblins Of Elderstone for Lost Goblin Studios.

During my time as a 3D artist I also participated in some game jams with a colleague of mine. We submitted our game to the Kiwi Game Starter competition put together by the New Zealand Game Developer Association and won first place! Shortly after, we registered our company NinjaThumbs and have been developing our game now know as 'Grabity' ballistic bot brawls full time. The game was featured in the Pax Aus Indie Showcase in 2017 and is now available on Steam.

I love every aspect of the process of making games as in independent developer, this includes but is not limited to concept art, modelling, texturing, rigging, animating, level design, creating various visual effects with custom shaders and particles.

Everything about making games is exciting and I hope to learn something new every day.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.
