3Dami returns for 2018, apply now!

Running since 2012, 3Dami has brings together small teams of 14-18 year old students to make short 3D animated films. Each team starts from scratch and has just seven days until their première. During that time they have to write the script, draw the storyboard, then use Blender to make the characters/props/sets, animate every shot, and then use Blender’s compositor and video editor to put together the final film. They operate like a film studio, with students taking on the role of director and producer, dailies and the user of asset managers and render farms.

This year we are running our camp at UCL (London), from 25th July – 2nd August 2018. All UK based students from 14-18 are eligible. We have 27 places to fill.

To learn more about the event please visit our website, where you can watch past films and sign up to attend. Its totally free, including food, we also have a small budget to help with transport if needed. The submission deadlines are:

  • 3rd June – First deadline; we fill half of the available places.
  • ~15th July – Second deadline, from which we select the remaining half.

Most tutorials are also available in Dutch, German, Spanish and Portuguese, but we can still use your help with translations.
