I do have a video that show how to make a simple rig (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJOga-8VZK4). You are the second person who has requested rigging/animation for the character so I will be adding it to my long "to-do" list! :)
Not bad at all, easier though to use the "C" command when selecting faces, edges, ect., Left click+ minus or plus to expand or collapse the C circle :)
I tend to you the circle select a lot more now than when I made this video. I picked up bad/slow habits when I started using Blender and sometimes those habits are hard to break. :)
