When I first started 3D, the dream was software (and hardware) that could give us full color, high resolution animation playback in real-time with cast shadows. Until I saw some of this Eevee stuff, I was beginning to think I wasn't going to live long enough to see it.
Hadn't you heard of game engines? That's exactly what they do and Eevee is no where near what other engines have been able to do for years now. Do you work in 3D?
Game engines didn't exist in 1989.
This is huge. I've been looking forwards to this for so long, although I'm scared how badly my 4 year old laptop is going to choke on all these wonderful features.
I love my MacBook Pro, but I keeping wondering if I'm going to have to switch back to windows machines for decent gpu performance.
Does this mean we can import an alembic cache that was animated in another program now, or is that something separate?
I am very curious how you get the large icons on the left of your screen?
Thanks
