I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

    • Nvidia and Blender have been working together for a very long time. It's the reason why GPU rendering through Blender was working and useful with CUDA first and, until recently, was the preferred method for rendering (I would say it's still preferred but from what I hear OpenCL has somewhat caught up). The API was provided to them directly from Nvidia. There is actually a lot of cooperation between the Blender Foundation and big industry names such as Nvidia but it is rarely discussed publicly.
