I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

To be honest, I started with Maya! When i changed over too 3DsMax it was a real struggle. When i changed over to blender it was hard but i preferred it over max.
Either way changing to another application is always a huge adjustment!
that said I so have my issues with blender like no save prompt when exiting.
and the OK? prompt when deleting an object.
but there are so many things i prefer over Maya, or any of the others.
but you build muscle memory.
Like when i downloaded boxcutter and hardops it takes getting used that way of working even if it reduces the number of actions you take.
Some of the proposals are a little silly to be honest but some would be really nice to see as an option.
Is there any way to prevent the stretching of the properties panel or have it set to a fixed size.
What do you mean exactly? The Properties editor stays the same size and buttons only stretch when you scale the editors or zoom the UI with +/- or Ctrl+MMB.
