so ,every body pretty much knows about the shadow catcher feature in blender 2.79, but the results have always been less than ideal. in this video we look at how to give them reflections in glossy surfaces and most importantly how to adjust the shadow strength to match your background images!
This is a mess and an exercise in how to mangle up a pipeline.
Keep your footage scene referred and your shadow stored as a linear element. No additional mangling required. Pure multiplication will constrict the degree of light.
