The intro and in-between scenes are completely made in Blender (Cycles). I used them to build a bit of a story/guideline around my New Zealand time lapse movie.
Also, I put the whole film together in the Video Sequence Editor and used motion tracking points to stabilize two of my shakiest time lapses.Blender and New Zealand, I love 'em both :).
You can see the Blender scenes at the following time codes:
00:00
01:10
03:03
06:16

hey, I'm interested in the last bit where the night sky shows with the mountain landscape, could you upload that scene clip somewhere I'd like to use it for another one of my projects.
Hey Miguel,
I captured that time lapse near the beautiful Arthurs Point (Queenstown, NZ), last year.
Feel free to use it for your project. I uploaded it on Google Drive (just click on my name).
By the way, in real time it took about 5 hours to capture, at an exposure time of 20 seconds for each image (plus 22 seconds for the camera to process the image). Just in case you want to make one yourself :).
Very very good intro. Great job.
But my heart is bleeding.. because I love new zealand and every time I see anything of it I wished I could be there again...
Thanks Andreas. Yeah, I feel exactly the same about this country. I had the privilege to spend a year there. Already miss it.
Thank for sharing, the article is very interesting. I really liked your view about Animation Videos. Really looking forward to read more.
