Blender doesn't have a good reputation for architectural design modeling, however it happens to be an excellent tool, when factoring in the excellent addons that the community has released. The following are some of the most useful ones I have found for architectural design and modeling.
About the Author
Dimitar I am an architect, based in London and I have been using Blender since 2007. It is one of the essential tools that I use daily at my job to express design intent. Having seen the great potential that Blender has for architects and designers, I have become inspired to create tutorials that qucikly allow potential newcomers to be able to realise ideas.

Nice addons, most i knew already. THe sun tool looks cool. I made something simple using a curve and a driver. This way i can rotated and set the time with a controller.
PS check this simple addon, check sum. https://gist.github.com/zeffii/3839812
It sum the length of all selected edges, super useful.
Thanks for the tip! will check it out
PS also use Magic uv, its a UV addon on roids. UVW addon was recently added as well. Magic UV can do tons of uv tricks.

I tried it because I do understand that Surve UVW has been incorporated into it, however, I wasn't sure where the functionality of the most common task - box unmapping as in surve uvw has been placed.
Ssorry i don't get your post reply, i'm not English speaking by tongue.
Thank you Dimitar, some of the addons i did not know know about.
Cheers! Happy you have found it useful :)
