You can also make a hole to a plane and render through that.
Yes but it's not a mathematical class, I voluntarily don't explain absolutly all details ;-)
Hey folks, could you comment in English please? :)
Yes Bart you are right. Excuse for this French invasion! ;-)
Sorry Bart. As it was commenting on a very French joke I thought it was appropriate. And as we are both French.....
Interesting stuff. Seems pretty complicated for such a simple effect, even though I realize it's for a natural phenomena instead of an approximation. I really want to ask what your interpretation of "Bisounours" is, but since you went to so much trouble, I'll see what Google has to say! :D
xD "Bisounours" is a TV serie for children in France. In this, all is perfect, beautyfull and all people is kind and nice. Like our cg environement ;-)
Just so you know, cos(arctan(x)) actually reduces to 1/sqrt(x²+1), so cos(alpha)^4 = 1/(1+x²)² where x = (sensor half diagonal)/(focal length). This ought to be faster to calculate.
So in the node setup, starting with the arctan node, you ought to replace the following ones by a multiply node using the output of the previous node in both slots, an add node set to +1, and either a power node set to ^-2 or another multiply node with both slots connected to the previous output and a divide node putting the previous output in the lower slot.
It shouldn't change a thing except it'd probably be ever so slightly faster. Not that it isn't fast enough anyway.
Hi, and thanks for your good comment. I wanted to make an easy mathematical approach for all people. But I'm very happy to see some people following and thinking further!
Thank you for the video, and even more for the captions. 3 years of french in school and I'm still useless. Its good to hear and learn local references.
I'm always happy to provide content in other languages, as long as it is subtitled. That way everyone can benefit!
Thanks Bart for your spirit. I open my YouTube Channel with this thought. All people isn't native english speaker. The best way is subtitles, read is easiest than hear. If you are 14 years old and not native english speaker, learn effectivly Blender is impossible xD.
So I want to help the most people : native english speaker, not native english speaker and french users.
aie
hi
Ouch
hi
if I understand well we can put video in any language or at least subtitled so therefore the anglophones should subtitle theirs,
I feel like I'm going to get fired from the world of bisounours
