Rendering for Comics

Paul Caggegi writes:

Hi BlenderNation! I've been creating an on-going series of Blender tutorials specifically for rendering 3D scenes for comics. They are currently available through Patreon for subscribers who support my work for $3 a month.

The series takes you through downloading and setting up Blender; how to model, shade and light specifically for illustration; how to set up Freestyle, and how to use the compositor to combine linework, colour and effects and achieve an illustrative look.

All tutorials come with working files and downloadable assets which are yours to keep and reuse for your own future projects.

Future tutorials will cover topics such as blending halftone textures for creating classic comic effects, and more. There are plans for making free content available in the future, so come check out my Patreon page and see what's on offer!

I’ve been a motion-graphics artist, video editor & 3D effects creator for almost twenty years, working full time since 2001, and freelance since 2008. I’ve worked on several corporate campaigns, TV commercials, web-videos, showreels and media branding packages for clients such as Nickelodeon, Saachi & Saachi, and Leo Burnett. I run a Patreon page to teach illustrators how to use Blender so they can create assets for their own projects.
