Tearing Cloth In Blender - Updated Method

Hi Bart,

Recently on Blendernation there was a post by Sean Kennedy from OpenVfx. He ran into a problem and reached out to the Blender community and a user by the name of Syziph shared his solution. It is a very clever solution to tearing cloth in Blender!

I checked it out and immediately tried it out. I liked it a lot but had some issues with it. The cloth tears all at one and not from a direction, like when you would tear something. Also the physics were a bit off sue to the Mask Modifier that is used in the system. So I decided to try develop off the amazing method by Syziph and came up with this.

In the tutorial article I have included the scene file for people to check out if they want to have it open as they work their way through the tutorial.

Kind regards,
Lawrence
