Timelapse: Making an Animated Safe Door in Blender (Cycles and Eevee)

Hi anyone, after getting a request i recorded a timelapse (this time with text explanations) while remaking an animated safe door i did some months ago. To make things more interesting, this time i used Eevee for the final animation.

The video is in three parts:

  1. Modeling in Blender 2.79
  2. Animating the door parts and setting up a static Cycles image (with some final touches in GIMP)
  3. Switching to Eevee, adjusting the materials and lights, and adding a moving fog effect using volumetrics

The final result looks like this:

If you're curious, this was the original animation i did about 8 months ago, time runs really fast :-)!

That's all, i hope this videos are interesting and useful in some ways.

And, as usual, thank BlenderNation for sharing and thank you all for watching!
