My thoughts exactly.
Something's worth what someone will pay for it.
It would take me more than 3 Pounds (About 5 dollars in my currency) worth of time to code this, so yeah, why not?
Work out the time for you to code something equivelent (including time required for maintenance and new features down the track) then determine how much your time is worth. Decide whether or not this is worth it to you.
I really don't understand the complaints about paid plug-ins.
