Are you looking to buy a new GPU for your workststation? Steve Lund compares options.

Blender now supports AMD's graphics cards! SO what is the best options for rendering? In this video I benchmark the Radeon Pro Duo, and compare its performance with 2x GTX 1080's!

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Hmm, I decided to go liquid Vega 64. The cross brand/platform rendering is interesting but, I'm wondering how you would even make that happen with drivers and such. Also, what would make the day even better is if AMD could help make EVEE cross platform rednerable.

Wondering if I should send my Vega back when it shows up and just get a pro duo for $100 more.

  2. Some guy who has to many AMD cards on

Yes dealing with the the 45 seconds of kernel compile times on nearly every change you make is so artist friendly xD

  3. The Radeon and GTX were combined at one point in this video, but does that work for rendering in Blender as well? I'm a little confused on that point whether that was only with the AMD renderer or if it applied to Cycles and Evee as well.
