Hey there, I know this is old but maybe I will get an answer.
I’m learning Cycles C4D version and would like to control the shadow strength only (darker/lighter) from an HDR.
Is that similar to what you have done here?

I’m not really sure. But relatively, the core settings in Cycles are the same so the concepts would still apply.
Yes, the C4D version works just like Blender Cycles, how ever I wouldn’t know how to control HDR shadows in Blender either, thats my question.
When lighting a scene with HDR is there a way you can make the shadow strength less/more without affecting the light on the object?
