    Hey there, I know this is old but maybe I will get an answer.
    I'm learning Cycles C4D version and would like to control the shadow strength only (darker/lighter) from an HDR.
    Is that similar to what you have done here?

    Yes, the C4D version works just like Blender Cycles, how ever I wouldn't know how to control HDR shadows in Blender either, thats my question.

    When lighting a scene with HDR is there a way you can make the shadow strength less/more without affecting the light on the object?
