Batman comics TV spot made with Blender

Recently I have been working with l'Atelier d'images to deliver a TV spot and web trailers for a Batman comics collection. All the shots, including titles, were made in Blender, and the cut was made in Davinci Resolve.

Under a short deadline and with alot of back and forth with the client, Blender offered great flexibilty and the new features like Denoising were absolutly essential to deliver the best quality possible in a short amount of time. Using blender instead of After Effects for this kind of project really allows to go the extra step for 3D shots and have perfect control on 2D/parallax animation.

My hope is that with the upcoming Eevee we will be able to make similar projects in realtime, with a good control for NPR shading, compositing, holdout materials, etc. It will be a huge step towards making Blender even more attractive for this kind of projects.
