Weekly Blender Developers meeting notes – August 6, 2017

Here are the notes from today’s 14 UTC meeting in irc.freenode.net #blendercoders.
1) Blender 2.79 release
- First RC is out now.
- Meeting discussed web todos wich will be handled this week (now I’m back from LA :)
- blender.org doesn’t advertise the RC well, will need more prominent coverage.
- a release log should go to blender.org still (and the wiki version needs better images)
- link to release logs is hidden since revamp of download page.
- A possible RC2 will be checked on in 1-2 weeks.
2) Blender 2.8
- The presentations on SIGGRAPH were a big success! Blender booth attracted a lot of visitors. Special kudos to the Viewport team and the people providing Eevee demos! Report will come soon.
- The monday kick-off meeting for full-time/paid 2.8 coders will be in IRC tomorrow. 10:00 CEST. Report will go to this list.
3) GSoC
- Final evaluation ends in 3 weeks. Students should get working (end user level) software now, and spend the last weeks on feedback, tweaks and fixes. Provide binaries and docs for users to attract testers!

Is somewhere videos about Blender Siggraph?
