Hey Everyone! In this video I will be showing you how to create a neon sign in blender. This is an easy process which most beginners can follow along. In the video I will demonstrate how to create the model for the neon sign, how to create the materials for the light and glass coating, as well as how to add a separate blur to each individual text object in the scene.
I hope you guys enjoy this tutorial and learn something new. Thanks for watching!

I've been using Blender for quite a while now. I love Blender and its my passion, that is why I try to share everything I know about it with you guys. There is so much that Blender can do. It is not just a tool for 3D modelling, it can be used for photo editing, animating, and creating games as well. Over the years, I have explored Blender's capabilities and pushed them to the limit, and now I'm here to share those tricks with you. ;)

  1. Hello,
thanks for this nice tutorial. I can follow this tutorial without any problems until 12:20 till you set the nodegroup but after that how did you get back to the view with these GroupInput and Blur things on 12:24?

  2. Good tutorial, but one thing you never see in a neon sign is sharp corners.

I've designed a fair number of neon signs for a guy I know who bends the tubes and I've assembled a fair few.

The devil is in the details!

    • You're right! If you want to make these neon signs truly realistic, you would need to change the font to something like comic sans, or manually add curves in edit mode.
