Members of the Blender Cloud now have access to two internal tools that the Blender Institute developed and used during their recent projects. Attract is a production tracking/task management tool that will help you break down a project into shots and tasks. The Render Manager Flamenco lets you set up your own rendering infrastructure and manage your rendering projects from a central interface. Both tools are tightly integrated into Blender through the Blender Cloud add-on.
Francesco Siddi writes:
After over a year of use in production at Blender Institute and an initial private beta testing phase, Flamenco and Attract are officially in public beta! This means they are available for free for every Blender Cloud subscriber.

The Blender Future is looking bright :)
Thank you for this video!
I was using the 'Blenderbatch' plugin for Azure for some time... But... Since an update it doesn't seem to work anymore.
Running a personal Flamenco server no my workstation to get render jobs to my Azure account seems doable.
I'd like to test it in the next few weeks. And then see if it's more/less convenient then using a (commecial) renderfarm..

"This means they are available for free for every Blender Cloud subscriber."
Well, it's not free if its only available to people who are paying, now is it?
Flamenco started out being free for everyone (Though there was absolutely no documentation, so essentially useless), so that's a convenient way to move functionality to a paying platform only.
I'm not saying that this is necessarily a wrong move, but can we expect other blender features to do the same?
From what I understand, the software is open source and available for download. Do you can install it for free, or use it as a free 'upgrade' to your existing blender cloud subscription.
This is fantastic! Great job.
@Maxraster, the Flamenco solution is open-source and available at https://www.flamenco.io/
