Anyone knows when it will be officially released?
There’s no such things as an official release date. After this test build, at some point, there will be a ‘release candidate’. If that version passes all tests, it will become the official release. If not, another release candidate will be released, until all major bugs are removed.
There are target release dates (months, actually) though – you can find those here:
https://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:2.7
Hope that clears things up!
I check this wonderful website everyday, but I was wondering one thing, how to get a tutorial featured in here?
Another big bugfix that I appreciate: https://developer.blender.org/T51216
Before, if you increased the viewport AO distance more than about 2 or 3, it became really faint, so you’d have to crank up the strength, which introduced a bunch of noise. Now, you can increase the distance as far as you’d like and it still stays just as strong and just as smooth. I love it!
In the release logs, the denoising explanation is too vague between the tool’s parameters.
I don’t really understand what’s the difference between Strength, Feature Strength and Relative Filter..
(I know, this isn’t the right place to suggest this)
I’m always downloading the latest build from
https://builder.blender.org/download/
It’s funny because they don’t have listed 2.79, just 2.78(5) and 2.8.
Updating:
in fact the builders from builder.blender.org are newer.
Made this yesterday with the build linked above. Thanks for the share Bart!
