Do you think 2.79 will be out this month?
If you read the project planning (first link in the article), you'll see that a release candidate is planned for this month. The final release date will of course depend on the test results :)
Thanks Bart, I know about the release candidate. I was hoping for approximate date for the actual release, or if that's even if they do have approx. dates in case they still need to improve the version
In your experience, what is normally the timeframe from the release of a candidate to the actual release ?
Sorry I'm kinda eager lol Don't mind me, just a blender newbie here ;)
This kind of news is for me always the most interesting and I read these very carefully. Thanks for this. :)
I am really looking forward to 2.79 and 2.8 releases. i wanted to suggest few things i am not sure if this is the right place but in hope people will see this i am putting it down.
1) please increase the max render output of 10k pixels because i want my 100ft banners to be rendered ready for print out of blender itself.
2)can the scripting have a scratch language like easy feel and users can switch off the friendly mode once they think they are ready.
3)can we have a renderer dedicated for printwork like books and comics.and if for example I am doing graphic novels and all my panels are a stand alone blender scenes can we have outliner or scene library where we can manage camera ,light, atmosphere so as the printed book is an unbelievable experience.
this could be expanded with geometric calculations and simulations for people in industrial design and packaging industry.
If i can somehow contribute to make these additions to blender a reality do let me know how and where i should begin.
Hi ABHIRUT! I suggest you write those to there: https://developer.blender.org/maniphest/ and maybe also to there: https://rightclickselect.com/p/ so the developers can see your ideas.
Hi Abhirut,
For comic book style have a look at using Blender's Freestyle rendering features. Paul Caggegi uses it with backgrounds and vehicles for his Pandeia books - http://www.paulcaggegi.com/category/pandeia/
He did a talk at the 2013 Blender conference on his process so that should also give you some good starting points...
