0

Here are the notes from today's 14 UTC meeting in irc.freenode.net #blendercoders.

Ton Roosendaal writes:

1) Blender 2.79 release

  • Project page with targets and planning.
  • Mac OS libs need update, Arto Kitula volunteers to help with it. Goal would be to keep 2.79 work for Mac OS 10.6 and later.
  • Note: for 2.8x it will be Mac OS 10.9 and later!
  • Bugs total went down to 289! Still a lot of work here. Join the fun.

2) Blender 2.8 projects

  • Dalai Felinto and Clement Foucault had a very productive week in Blender Institute. Report about Viewport and Eevee plans go to code.blender.org in a few days.
  • Campbell Barton goes back to work on workspace/manipulator projects.
  • Bastien Montagne will work on linking/appending for workspaces.

3) Google Summer of Code

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.
