Maarten Hof creates 3 versions of “The Above Hideout Tree” in Blender. One in 2015, one in 2016, and one in 2017. We can clearly see the amazing improvement, which is a delight.

The leaves are a little flat in the actual version but except for that, you improved a lot. Nice texturing, framing and lighting. Great job!
I am a big fan of the oily effect in the 2017 version. Is it done only with Blender, or has a Photoshop/Gimp filter been applied on the result?
I would definitely love to hear some tips from the author about how he achieved this effect.
