Yooka-Laylee, Enjoying the View

0

Essimoon made this insane fan art of Yooka-Laylee, a platform video game developed by Playtonic Games and published by Team17, and posted it on Sketchfab. Since a lot of programs were used, I asked how Blender contributed to this artwork.

I used Blender mostly for lighting and a bit to do minor fixes like topology cleanup, as well as placing the grass and the leaves using Blender's particle system. The lighting was the most intense part though. It's impressive what you can do with Blender these days. Everything was setup in Cycles. After setting up the lighting I just baked it to a texture using the Bake feature in the Render tab. The lighting was perfectly transferred to a texture, I really love Blender for that job! :D

Am I the only one who noticed the turtle? Or is it a turtle.. hmm.
