Monique Dewanchand and Tom Haines will be hosting a Blender workshop in Leeds this Friday and Saturday.
This weekend Leeds Young Film Festival is hosting a 2 day Blender VR workshop for children, aged 9+. In this workshop children will learn how to create their own 3D models for VR.
Event information
In this workshop we will teach you how to create content for 3D animated films, computer games and virtual reality. You will create your own virtual reality experience that you can share with friends and family. You will learn the basics of making 3D models on the computer, applying materials, animating them and then outputting your work to be viewed with a virtual reality headset. We will be using Blender (blender.org), a complete package that is used to make films/games. It is also free, so students can continue at home.
We are also running a Girls Only Session.

I would like to start using Blender 3d animation. I have Toshiba laptop Intel(R)Core(TM)2DUO CPU T5450 @1.66 Ghz 1.67hz Memory RAM 3.00 GB Windows Service Pack 1 32bit operating system No Pen or Touch available on this display Rating 2.8 Windows. I have not any indication of Compatible Graphics 512 Ram in my system. As there are so many Blender Versions and latest version are most likely out of question. can you please advise or suggest what earlier version of Blender I should use from cloud or download on my laptop so I can start using simple animations. I did use cell animations before so I hope that might help. I do not need any rendering as that would be most likely out of my reach. But I would like to animate drawing of jumping or bouncing of 2 legs I am attaching in this message to you. Hope I do not take much of your free time but some basic guidance would be greatly appreciated. I have not signed up as I am not sure if I am capable to do what I intend to do.
Thank you and have a nice day
The latest Blender version might work on your computer as long as you download the 32bit version. If not, you can try Blender 2.72 or earlier (https://www.blender.org/download/previous-versions/).
