A nice and slick scooter render by Lukas Lima. Blender was used for the modeling and Keyshot for the rendering, which is a peculiar combination of programs in my opinion. Have you guys ever used Keyshot with Blender before? How was your experience with it?

  1. Blenders speedy modelling capabilities and the OBJ export is great with KeyShot. What's even better is the potential for a rapid concept workflow with the use of Alembic Cache, sadly the Blender exporter is not great with .abc making a right pigs ear out of the resulting export mesh. Basic geometry with no SubD layers is the way to go with .abc to KS for now

  2. Nice model and rendering.

I'm also a Blender + Keyshot user. I already owned Keyshot. It has an intuitive drag & drop workflow, but in terms of rendering quality Keyshot and Cycles are equally good in my humble opinion. Keyshot just offers an easier, more visually oriented UI.

  3. I still find for what Keyshot charges that it is too expensive compared to what you can do in Cycles.

Keyshot comes with many good materials and presets but that is a matter of making yourself in Blender.

Keyshot has one dramatic advantage and that is it can load native cad files.
