I love low poly scenes and for ages I would build my low poly trees by using a cylinder and extruding the end. Then copy the tree and rotate it... but this took ages. Then it dawned on me that using the skin modifier would be a much quicker way. So here it is a quick tutorial on how to make a low poly tree in blender.
Steps:
- merge vertices
- extrude vertices
- copy and paste and re-merge vertices
- add skin modifier
- add sub.surf. modifier
- decimate
Hope this helps you all and have fun Blendering
Here's the tree I made for the tutorial on Sketchfab:

Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
This is Great, I have been staying away from blender for a couple of days. This is easy and fun. I might show this to some people I teach blender to.
Thanks,
