Complete Vehicle Production in Blender

11

If you're into car modeling then this new course by CG Masters may be for you: an in-depth guide to creating a Jeep from modeling to shading and rendering.

Chris Plush writes:

Hey all, I just released a complete step-by-step guide to creating a Jeep Wrangler in Blender, including a full interior which is a tutorial topic rarely seen. The course weighs in at over 40 hours of tutorials and also includes creating fully customizable shaders, making the studio environment, lighting the scene and rendering it all out in Cycles. I'm really proud of how this turned out and am really excited to get this out there to everyone.

  1. would be useful to have a video clip from the course so i can assess the training and his speaking voice for example.

    • Chris has a pleasant voice which is easy to understand and he is a seasoned tutorial producer. He takes his time and explains well. I have a number of his training sets and they helped me at the time and later as a reference. I wanted to learn blender in a methodical way so I began with his Master it dvds. You can try a free tutorial on the Cgmasters website and give Chris a 'test drive'. I even learned something from the intro video! Not only that but he is very good in customer support and got me back on track more than once when I meshed up in a tutorial.

  3. Hi, love the course , very detailed and lots of fun.
I have hit a problem when doing the stitching , I have tried several times now and always get the same problem.
The "stitch" object will not center around the curve, there is always an offset.
I did apply location and rotation , cannot for the life of me figure this out.

    • Hey, glad you're liking the course =) I think the offset is usually from one of two things. Either the vertices for the stitches are not centered over the origin point, or the origin point for the stitch object is not exactly where the origin of the curve object is. In either case if you're still having trouble you can send the blend to me at [email protected] and then I can tell you exactly what's going on and how to fix it, see ya!

      • Thanks, the origin for the stitch object was off , did not spot that :)
I am an absolute beginner but still getting this done so that is a testament to great this course is in my opinion . Do you have more courses ?

  4. I am using Blender 2.82 and the Python script gives me an error , it seems to resize the jeep but does not reset the unit scale to zero. Unsure if manually setting the unit scale to zero works or how I can check if everything is ok ?
Should all items be set to 1.0 scale , if so its not working.
