Who were the most active Blender developers in 2016? Ton gives an overview and thanks them on Blender.org.

Let’s salute and applaud the most active developers for Blender of the past year again! The ranking is based on commit total, for Blender itself and all its branches.

Obviously a commit total doesn’t mean much. Nevertheless, it’s a nice way to put the people who make Blender in the spotlights.

The number ’30’ is also arbitrary. I just had to stop adding more! Names are listed in increasing commit count order.

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Community Lead at n8n.
