Short Animation - Nightmare Hardware

Joshua Godwin writes:

Made as a venture into marketing/advertising, Nightmare Hardware is a short animation based on the stories and experiences I heard while working at a local hardware store. If you like it then a like and share would be much appreciated.

I was heavily influenced by animations such as Chipotle's "A Love Story" and several commercials from the animation studio SHED.

Its very nicely done but i dont get the end with the list he's showing. I thought he's a stockroom/warehouse coworker. Then walksout and has some sort of list, so he's probably a customer looking for items??? Its not very cleaar i guess

      • Yea that's correct. He's a customer shopping for paint. It's meant to contrast the environment of two major hardware stores in the US. I obviously couldn't use names but the first one is a major hardware store here in the US and the last one is a smaller local hardware store where I worked for a few years.

People would come in and tell me how much they appreciated the help they got from our store whereas how tough it was to get help at the other. Probably didn't do a perfect job portraying that but did my best.

yes the relation is much better is a small store, i also tende to think people who work in a smaller store really like the job. Where as i big stores a see wrokers quite often wonder around and tend to avoid customers in need for help.

PS i didnt really notice the transition to a smaller store, i just there was a female there out side the big department which do wanted to help
