14 year old Thomas Berard has only been using Blender for about a year and is already creating some really good work!
Hi, My name is Thomas Berard. I am a student and I'm only 14 years old. I started CG as a hobby about a year ago, but from that, it became something that I was good at. These are some of my many renders and I try and post as consistently as possible.
I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

Great work Thomas! Brings me back to the days when I was first getting into Blender at about the same age as you.
Too much of Blender art out there is over-postprocessed, that is sad. This is sadly no exception.
What is wrong with post processing? I like his art, he will have great future with cgi if he continues this path.

Thomas, oh boy, you obviously have the right talent to achieve results quickly and grow rapidly in this art form. Incredible what you have achieved in a single year. Stay positive, work hard, and keep your youthful enthusiasm. Good luck!
great work, i like the visible interior parts through the frosty window like the christmas tree!
You might try and add some footsteps in the snow near the porch to give the house a slightly more 'lived-in' feeling and maybe reduce the amount of light in the room on the top floor/add some curtains, but the image and the idea are great!
I actually made curtains for the windows but It didn't render because I'm pretty sure I turned the translucency up too high. Even though I never thought about it at the time but I'll keep your tips in mind for future renders. Thanks! :)
