The Portland, Oregon Blender User Group (BlenderPDX) is holding its November meeting on the 19th, this third Saturday at the Art Institute of Portland, room 204 (a PC lab) from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Seating is limited, but everyone is welcome to explore and share their experiences with Blender! We are completely free and open. We are very newb friendly, because we are all newbs.
B-PDX is planning a wonderful interactive project to span through next year. The B-PDX Mascot project!
Everyone can be involved in any/all stages of development. We’ll be starting in January 2017 with modeling. And, preceding each monthly stage we’ll conduct a supporting workshop. So this month (since we don’t meet on Decembers), our workshop is focused on organic modeling fundamentals, tips and tricks. If you’ve got some experiences in organic modeling, come and share them. If you don’t, this meeting is for you.
And our TotM* for this month is anything fruity. Let your creative juices flow!
There's no need to bring anything else but yourself. However, you may benefit from bringing your own thumb drive to swap-n-share and save all sorts of stuff that we'll be doing. And as usual, what have you Blended and discovered worth sharing? Projects, addons, tutorials, news, etc...
We also cast our meetings via Google+ Hangouts. Immediately after setting up the virtual room, we will publish its web address in our usual places: Our active participant gmail address book ([email protected]) & those in our B-PDX G+ circles; facebook.com/groups/BlenderPDX/; and blenderpdx.org/event/.
*Themes of the Month (TotMs) are excellent opportunities for exceptional interactive learning. As individuals, we tend to gain a greater appreciation of others’ different approaches, techniques and such when we ourselves have concurrently endeavored on the same topics, features or themes. Develop your TotM entry in 5 minutes or however much time you want. Tap into any/all resources you can (e.g., Blendswap, CGTextures, etc). It’s not so much about originality, as it is about creativity, style, concept, and learning Blender.
