Did you mean "Apply the scale before continuing with tasks like sculpting or using the bevel tool"? Unless I'm very much mistaken, applying the scale (Ctrl+A) is exactly what you likely want to do before beveling etc.
I think he means, "...NOT applying the scale before continuing with tasks like sculpting or using the bevel tool". As in, here's what happens if you don't apply the scale...but I agree, it's a bit unclear.
A better phrasing might be: "In this Blender tutorial and short tip I show the dangers of scaling in objectmode without applying the scale, and then continuing to tasks like sculpting or using the bevel tool"
@WYSIWYG: Absolutely, sorry for misleading description.
No worries :)
Thanks, this is very important thing.
Yes, you are very welcome.
A long time ago as a new user I quickly learned to enter edit mode every time BEFORE 'resizing' a mesh! But is there any time when anyone would *want* the difficult scaling issues demonstrated in the video? In over 10 years of Blender I don't think I've ever wanted those Scale boxes to say anything except '1.00'.
Hi, the scaling issues are in my opion the pitfalls, not something you want. But I understand that there must be a differentiation between scaling in object- and editmode (think of physics simulations for example). But perhaps there should be an option like: Apply automatically...
