I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. "Object datablocks are now sorted alphabetically by default"

Thank you Joshua Leung! At last, the Dope Sheet editor won't just dumbly show animated objects in the order in which you first animated them. By careful naming of objects it will be possible to keep related objects next to each other in the [alphabetical] dope sheet listing, which will make moving those objects' related key frames MUCH easier. This will save countless errors in complex animations.

    • This is a great update. How about Datablocks & Libraries Management:
"From Blender File view, right-clicking on a library:
Reload and Relocate libraries (no need anymore to save and re-open .blend file to update libraries or change their paths).
From All Scenes, Current Scene and similar views, right-clicking on a datablock:
      Fully Delete a datablock.
Remap Users of a datablock to another one (of same type of course) - means you can e.g. replace all usages of a material or texture by another one."

  2. I feel like Blender's long been that girl in high school with the braces and pimples, but now she's going off to college, she has big dreams ahead, she's got her braces removed, her face is clearing up, and she's becoming all sorts of sexy now.

(And we're like that one guy who was kind to her all along.)
