Blend4Web Team writes:

Watchface maker Luxury Watches presents a very interesting project on Blend4Web. This app is made for Samsung Gear S2 Smart Watch and works on Tizen OS. It allows the user to choose the watchface from a variety of different skins - all in realtime 3D! So you can instantly make your watch look luxury or sporty - choose the one that complements the mood! The app considers the illumination and automatically adjusts the brightness. You can interact with it as well! And, of course, the skins are made in Blender.

This opens a new interesting page for Blend4Web usage: Tizen OS works very closely with HTML5 standards, so Blend4Web perfectly suits for developing apps for it!

  1. I wonder what's the reasoning behind doing something like this in real time 3D? I would think you could just generate each hand at each position (plus shadow on transparency) and then layer them on the frame.

    • Nevermind I read the article and it tries to mimic the light in the room, which is seriously cool. Though it seems like it needs to be a little more responsive.

    • I have around 50 apps in 2D canvas with the same way for make 2D renders,
      - but 3D is future of realtime APPs I think, because only in real 3D we have a way for changing light and other visual effects for realistic render.
will wait when HW and OS SW receive an updates and bugs removation !

    • Yes I'm think same , but now we have a limits for FPS for use realtime GYRO data in realtime rendering, i'm work on try to use it another way . ((
