Nimble Collective has premiered its home grown animated short at Siggraph 2016. The second Animal Fact was an in-house project to test the capabilities of our virtual streaming animation platform. Using Blender (featuring the new 'bendy bones' rigging system), Nuke, Audacity and other tools we were able to bring a chicken to LIFE! (I mean, an animated one, not like a real live chicken.)
It was all done though a web browser streaming Blender, Nuke, etc. with an international team. Modeled, animated, rendered, edited, etc. All without downloading anything or installing any software.
"Cluck" here to learn how we made our digital short and sign up to be informed when we post the tutorials.

so great to see the "Nimble Collective" using free and opensource tools, so great!
Thanks! We're all about lowering barriers to entry (including financial ones) so being able to run opensource software over our platform is a great way for us to help folks be their own studios. =)
Beautiful, I love how you are using a lot of blender feature.
Did you use the pencil tool for the 2D effect?
Love it! Thanks for sharing
Hi Mathias! Thanks very much! We only used the grease pencil tool for creating the animatic.. everything else is done with 3D, amazing textures, and using Blender Cycles!

Oh, and nuke for compositing the birds and the little floaty bits in the farm shot. :)
Hi Jason. Well, it's very well done! I really love the 2D effet. It's impressive and yeah, beautiful textures. Keep it coming!!!!! :D
