Realism will never be the result of watching/doing a tutorial. It’s a result of working countless hours with the experience of even more countless hours (and some knowledge gained from tutorials at some point, sure).

Seems like an accurate description to me. Besides you haven’t offered an alternative name or title description. He spent god knows how many hours perfecting that technique, and making that tutorial, who are you to tell him what he should name it? You sound very ungrateful.
