SUBSYMM, an experimental animated film promo

5

Eric Erre writes:

Experimental animated film. Fully made in blender. Every texture procedural.

SUBSYMM is a personal project, a non-narrative visual poem. Just trying to explore my own aesthetics. The main idea is to make every chapter a "stand-alone" video, featuring different noise musicians from around the world.

I’m trying to achieve a pitch black ocean with a “static feel” on it. The lines and foam have a reflecting material while the rest remains see-through.

Using the ocean simulator, a procedural texture for waves and the addition of a noise texture over the foam. Here are some notes and pics about the ocean make of.

I sculpt the skull model (since it needed no rigging...) I used rings texture to achieve that look. You can see the 3D skull model on Sketchfab:

For the tears I used the fluid simulation and collision objects (props)
