Add-on: Capsule - One-Click, Batch FBX Exports

9

Takanu writes:

Hey, Capsule is a plugin for Blender that augments the in-built FBX exporter, allowing you to automate the export of hundreds of objects in a scene with a single click. It features Export Lists, reusable Export Presets, automated export organisation tools and a bunch of other cool stuff.

I've been developing it for quite some time now, but I recently reached a milestone release that makes it user-friendly and suitable for production environments, and i'll be continuing to update it and add new features over time.

If you're interested, you can check it out on my Gumroad page.

Wait a minute--add-ons can have individual Preference settings available in the Add-on menu?!

    All these years...

  2. Hello Takanus,

I am an Indie Game developer and have taken a great deal of interest in your "Capsule" project.

I created a video about it here. https://youtu.be/RQBYHA7ssKQ

I have a quick question for you about adding some support for LODS that could be imported into into UE4.

I have ties into a very large dev community that would greatly benefit from these additions.

I am not sure if you are aware, but currently, blender does not support the export of LODS from blender into UE4 right now via FBX, Here is some documentation about a fix for that : https://developer.blender.org/D2279#68218

I think if you added this support into your "Capsule" plugin, it could help it gain a great deal of traction among the indie game developer scene.

Personally I think Capsule is an amazing tool, and If it had the ability to export LODS via a naming convention like suffix XXX_LOD_01 , XXX_LOD_02 etc.. etc.. with capsule and the "UE4 standard preset" this would be absolutely amazing!

I hope to hear back from you!

    Best Regards,
    Kyle

  3. I'm not sure this is what I require. I'm searching for a batch exporter.
For example, my scene has an animation with say 30 frames. At this stage I have to go through each and every frame and export the model as an STL file. I need to 3d print each and every model for each frame. This is very time-consuming.
If there was a batch exporter that would label each model in each frame automatically. Say frame 1 would be fame1.stl. I hope this makes any sense. Looking forward to a reply.. thank you.
