Krita 3 has been in development for about a year now and it is coming out around the end of the Kickstarter campaign. The update brings a turn of changes to the program, to the point where these are even hard to track! That’s why I made a dedicated video. In 18 minutes, it will give you an overview of the 6 new major features, as well as 11 complementary additions that turn Krita in a much more useful tool for both 3-D artists and game artists in general.
I especially love:
- The new layers docker, that allows for both faster and more flexible layer management
- The grid, guides and snapping, an essential feature for designers
- And the new instant preview engine, that changes everything
The overview of Krita 3.0’s new features is available both in video, and in text format.
Thank you kindly for the read!

How come Krita gets a 3.0 before Blender huh?!! Jk Blender, take your time and get it right, cause we love you for it.
I always felt blender 2.5 felt like 3.0 to me. It was a vast change and restructuring from 2.49
Krita + Blender = A modern art Lovestory
We have to be grateful about how awesome it is software like Blender and Krita exists. And the fact it is open source and free is just amazing!
