Blender Sighting : "Hit Parade"

Jean-Grégoire Malvoisin writes:

Seen today (May 11th) on a french national TV channel.

Hit Parade is an upcoming musical where the artists will 'come back to life' with holograms. Blender is used in the process to recreate the faces of the artists.

The video can be seen here.

[Comment Bart]: I talked to Francois Rimasson who works on this production (you see him in the video). He commented:

I'm actually working as senior character modeler on Hit Parade, a show that will bring back to life 4 singers, Claude François, Dalida, Sacha Distel and Mike Brant as holograms.

The tech behind the show is more or less the same as the show that involved a Michael jackson hologram, 2 years ago.

I'm one of the 2 modelers, and the only one that works with Blender to recreate the face of 2 singers. Blender is great for that, I can use seamlessly modeling & retopo tools, nice sculpting tools, accurate image planes and Cycle that helps me a lot to match the real artists faces.

Here's another video that covers this project.
