Nice reel, being a trooper myself I especially like the Star Wars animations. Did you create all those models yourself? I tried a walk cycle on an AT-ST model, but I didn't like the result very much...

Yeah that's really a problem. It is not difficult to create such a landscape. Just a ground with some particle systems but it is extremely demanding to the system. I've got 24GB RAM and it still ran slow...
