  1. No doubt this is a superb set of materials, but even at the 'introductory' price it's way out of my range. How disappointing.

  2. If only reynante wouldn't colorgrade the shit out of everything, that would be great..

Imho showing materials on a massively stylized, desaturated or over-contrasty images is a big nono.

      • Its not a question of taste, its a question of accurately assessing the quality of the product.

What John is getting at is that we cant really tell how much of the picture is the offered product (material), vs how much of it is post processing etc.

      • This one isnt even about taste, most of the stuff you do is always oversaturated and way too glowish. It just looks amateurish overuse of "cool" effects.

Not sure if you dont have a proper professional grade monitor or how the colours are always so off, or maybe you just like it that way.

  3. For me, the price is much too high and not fitting the quality of the materials, I think they are average at best as I see examples from the gallery. This is not for me, and I had such high hopes.

  4. Considering the time you can save by not having to make these materials by yourself, 75 dollars isn't a big sum of money especially with the lifetime of updates... usually people don't have a lot of time.

      • Anyone who works professionally knows that time is of the essence so the faster you get the desired results the better. 75 dollars is probably an hourly wage for a well paid professional in the industry and even if you weren't so well paid, 75 dollars would be way less than the money (=time) you would lose creating these materials.

I work in a tv channel and you kind of need to have graphics done quite fast.

  5. I agree 75 is not a lot, especially in the professional world. I already bought volume 1, and the quality is very good. I only wish there was an subscription option like textures.com or poliigon (wink-wink CMV+Poliigon merger?) . Maybe that way, a lot more variations can be added for common materials like wood and metal. And maybe some dirt/cavity shaders are needed that can be mixed to the other base shaders.

  6. 80% of this looking awesome is just carefully crafted lighting and post-processing. I would hope to see real comparisons between free materials and these to prove a point that these have some value and quality over those ones.

  7. I tried the demo file, and was pretty impressed with the quality. (Way better than i could do!) I dont get why anybody is complaining about the price, the time saving far outweighs the price!

  8. Hi Reynante,

Congrats for the opening! I've been browsing through the library but it is really hard to get an idea of the material properties with just a simple sphere. Do you pan to add more complex examples on the catalogue so we could have a better idea on each material behaviour to different lightning and condition ? For example, Arroway does that for each texture they sell and it is really helpful ! :)
