Video: Beltcorp

'Beltcorp' is a hobby project that ended up as a kind of SciFi commercial. It has great design and a cool breakdown too.

Gatis writes:

Hi, Blendernation! For last several months I have been working on this passion project. It all started out as a design for a little utility spaceship designed for maintenance and surface crew support. At the end I modeled little environment, pilot and turned it into a fictitious advertisement for a future space mining corporation "Beltcorp".

Everything was modeled, animated and rendered in Blender, Cycles.
Compositing in Fusion free version.

Thanks, and I hope you find this interesting enough :)

I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.

  1. Very nice work dude! But it does not feel very commercial, because of the very strong dystopic feeling it has. If I were the president of that company, I would not put this as our advert, since things like safety of individuals are far from this. :D Overall I liked it a lot. Starting of this had very strong mango influence.
