I featured Ray Mairlot's Lego Fluid Effect about a year ago and thought it was a very cool technique. Canadian developer Ryan Guy took a slightly different approach: instead of using the Blender Fluid simulator, he created his own fluid simulator (available for download) and rendered the result in Blender. Check out his results. What do you think?

Hi,
Great simulation, but how to use this simulator?
Best wishes,
Kamil.

Not the effect, but the CUSTOM fluid simulator from:
https://github.com/rlguy/GridFluidSim3D
I expect this to be simulated on GPU and in real-time..
Looks awesome, though I just tried running the makefile - wish there were instructions on how to setup the environment/libraries, it appears the developer has installed some libraries which are necessary to compile this:
PTHREADINCLUDE=-IC:/cygwin64/usr/i686-pc-mingw32/sys-root/mingw/include=C:/cygwin64/usr/i686-pc-mingw32/sys-root/mingw/lib/libpthread.a
Wow, seems like a very interesting simulation
