Blend4Web Team writes:Hello everyone! Glad to see you all here. The first competition was a blast, and without further ado let us announce the beginning of the second competition: Smartphone Presentation!
The rules are mostly the same, however, the criteria have changed a bit. In this contest the most valuable aspects will be photorealism and optimization because the online AD must look appealing and run on any device!
What if the phone design is patented?
Do you mean copying the existing design or making your own that is patented?
If first, it will break contest’s rules (you can check them on the main page)
If second, well, as the rules say, all source files must be opensourced: including .blend files, for others to dig into it and to see how it works. But you can change something or make a new design, the contest will last for a month :)
I mean go ahead & share .blend files, but the phone design itself is patented in case someone tries to make a phone & steal the design.
I see. Well, it’s some deep business. If you’re not sure about licensing, please consult your lawyer! The contest’s point is to determine the best and to have fun, and the only thing that is connected to licensing is opensourcing source files. We don’t need your copyright, you preserve all rights and responsibilities in regards to your own work.
