Fantastic VFX breakdowns in this VFX reel by Sergey Metelskiy.
Hi! Here's my humble reel with some shots i've worked on in 2015.
In almost every shot here Blender took part for 3D graphics and some VFX.
Software used: After Effects CC, Mocha CC, Blender, Photoshop, Premiere, Inkscape, Nuke
Thanks for watching ;)

Great stuff!
Weird seeing the word brakedown everywhere though.
Yeah, I triple checked everything before render and yet overlooked this sad misspell :)
Nice Sergey! I'm curious, what area is blender lacking in? Why turn to other programs? Not a fanboy question: I'm really just wondering.
Well, it's obviously not so good fot compositing in a first place. It has very basic toolset and it's veeeery slow :) So I personaly found AE+Blender as a perfect bundle for my professional needs. Ofcourse I would rather prefer to do some serious compositing in Nuke, but its license is way to expencive for me at a moment.
How did you generate the clean plate for that flyover of the mountain? ( starts at 03:45 )
I took the last frame of the footage, removed original props in photoshop, and then reprojected clean plate back to geometry in a 3D scene
Very good, how did you get the floating planets to cast light on the girls head?
I rotoed her head, then made radial gradient with bluish tint and applied it on the footage with overlay (of soft light ) mix mode, with head roto as a mask. Simple as this.
Thank you so much, it is a really cool reel.
