Cédric Lepiller's 'Asset Management' addon looks like a powerful tool. It'll store models and light setups and comes with a free set of screws and bolts :)

Been eyeing this over at BlenderArtists. Nice to see it's finally available.
Nice. Is possible to make something similiar for materials, so you can easily drag & drop material on the object?

We are working on a new Addon nammed blender Material Library since september 2015, it will be available soon and it will be as complete ans simple to use than Asset Management ;)
